  1. O passageiro diz: «O destino é a estação, não o aeroporto.» Qual é o destino?

    • A. O aeroporto.
    • B. A estação.
    • C. O hotel.
    Correct answer

    A estação.

The passenger corrects the destination: the station, not the airport. Read the negative word não.

  2. Não compreendeu o que o passageiro disse. Que frase pede uma repetição?

    • A. Pode repetir, por favor?
    • B. Já chegámos.
    • C. Tem bagagem?
    Correct answer

    Pode repetir, por favor?

Pode repetir asks someone to say it again. It does not confirm arrival or ask about luggage.

  3. Leia: «Antes de iniciar a viagem, confirme o destino.» Quando deve confirmar?

    • A. Só no fim da viagem.
    • B. Depois de chegar.
    • C. Antes de começar a viagem.
    Correct answer

    Antes de começar a viagem.

Antes de means before. Confirmation comes before the journey starts.

  4. Todos pedem informação, exceto:

    • A. Qual é o destino?
    • B. Tenha um bom dia.
    • C. É nesta entrada?
    Correct answer

    Tenha um bom dia.

Exceto means except. Tenha um bom dia is a farewell; the other two sentences ask for information.

  5. O passageiro diz: «A música está alta. Pode baixar o volume?» O que está a pedir?

    • A. Aumentar a temperatura.
    • B. Falar mais depressa.
    • C. Reduzir o volume da música.
    Correct answer

    Reduzir o volume da música.

The context is loud music. Baixar o volume means turn the sound down.

  6. O passageiro diz: «Não é esta entrada; é a próxima.» Qual é a entrada indicada?

    • A. A próxima entrada.
    • B. A entrada atual.
    • C. A entrada anterior.
    Correct answer

    A próxima entrada.

Próxima means next. The current entrance is explicitly rejected.

  7. À pergunta «Precisa de ajuda com a bagagem?», o passageiro responde «Não, obrigado.» O que significa?

    • A. Pede outro destino.
    • B. Não precisa de ajuda.
    • C. Quer confirmar o preço.
    Correct answer

    Não precisa de ajuda.

Não, obrigado politely declines the offered help. It says nothing about the fare or destination.

  8. Qual destas frases pede para falar mais lentamente?

    • A. Pode conduzir mais devagar?
    • B. Pode chegar mais cedo?
    • C. Pode falar mais devagar?
    Correct answer

    Pode falar mais devagar?

Falar means speak; conduzir means drive. The requested action is slower speech.

  9. O passageiro diz «Pode baixar um pouco?», sem indicar o quê. Que resposta esclarece o pedido?

    • A. Refere-se ao volume da música?
    • B. Obrigado pela viagem.
    • C. Não se esqueça da bagagem.
    Correct answer

    Refere-se ao volume da música?

The request has no clear object. A confirmation question checks whether the passenger means the music volume.

  10. Leia: «Antes de sair, verifique se tem todos os seus pertences.» O que deve verificar?

    • A. O nome da estação.
    • B. Se tem os seus objetos pessoais.
    • C. O volume da música.
    Correct answer

Se tem os seus objetos pessoais.

Pertences are personal belongings. Check the meaning of the whole sentence before selecting an option.

Try a Portuguese reading exercise

Reading examples written by TVDE Ready. These are not official exam questions or a certification assessment.

Pode confirmar o destino, por favor?

What is being requested?

Show the explanation

Confirmation of the trip’s destination. The sentence asks for confirmation, not a price or luggage information.

Pode falar um pouco mais devagar?

What is being requested?

Show the explanation

Speaking more slowly. Use this when you need to understand speech better; it is not asking someone to drive more slowly.

Choose the purpose of the session

Topic practice helps when you are learning something new. A complete simulation checks how you respond across topics without looking at materials. Choose the format that fits your current stage instead of doing a full test every time.

Study in a quiet place while safely parked or away from the vehicle. Trying to read questions or interact with an app while driving is not a suitable study routine.

Mark uncertainty, including lucky answers

A correct answer guessed by chance belongs on your review list. Before moving on, ask whether you could explain the choice to someone else. If not, write down the topic and the wording that caused hesitation.

Read all options and compare their differences. An option that sounds familiar may still answer a different question.

Classify each mistake

Use a short note with the topic, cause and next action. This keeps the review manageable and prevents another simulation from hiding an unresolved problem.

Example record: “Sentence: Antes de iniciar a viagem, confirme o destino. Mistake: I missed antes. Explanation: confirmation comes first. Next action: make another sentence with antes and depois.” In your next session, cover the explanation and try to reconstruct it. Record that attempt to compare understanding as well as scores.

  • Content: revisit the course material and explain the rule.
  • Portuguese: study the unfamiliar expression in a complete sentence.
  • Reading: check conditions and negative words you overlooked.
  • Choosing between options: explain why one option fits and the others do not.

Look for a pattern over time

Compare several sessions under similar conditions. Fewer repeated errors in the same topics give more useful information than one isolated score. If the same issue returns, stop repeating full tests and give it a focused review session.

TVDE Ready provides practice and mistake review alongside Portuguese lessons. Check the current plans and included features in the app. Practice material is not a guarantee of the content or result of the official exam.

An example of useful review

Imagine reading «Só para confirmar: é nesta entrada?» and choosing an answer about price. Note that the purpose is to confirm the entrance at the destination. Make a variation, «É na entrada principal?», and explain why it still asks for confirmation.

This is an original Portuguese-comprehension example, not an exam question. Useful review records meaning, the cause of the mistake and a new situation. You do not need to copy dozens of questions to recognise a pattern.

Alternate practice, correction and recall

Set aside time to correct after answering. Choose a few mistakes and explain them carefully. At the next session, recall the explanation before opening notes. If you answer only after looking it up, keep that topic under review.

Keep practice conditions comparable and group doubts by topic. Repeating the same sequence can teach answer order. Change the context of your explanation and combine questions with language practice. The app result guides study; it does not prove an official pass.
